what is a monkey tree?
I use to live in seattle, and there was a very unusual tree that grew there I only know it by its nickname monkey tree does anyone know the real name? it is like a pine tree but not, the branches are coverd with really sharp leaves.
Monkey trees as they are most commonly called are really named Monkey Puzzles or their latin genus Araucaria araucana. These trees are not native to areas like washington state, they were planted in the norther hemisphere as an ornamental tree. I'm from seattle and also grew up with a monkey puzzle in my back yard, they are very cool.
