I have witnessed one meteor at nighttime that was bright enough and lasted long enough for me to see it by accident, realise what it was, get the binoculars up to my eyes, and watch it for several seconds before it disintegrated. It's quite something. Most are like the others you saw.

Meteors do sometimes do what you describe for a few seconds. In 2001 there was one in the north-eastern US that was visible for 5 seconds in the late afternoon. But it's rare.

Don't want to rain on your parade (well, you don't need me to; you're in Victoria), but could it have been a flare?

How would you describe your home office? Is it a pleasant place that welcomes you and helps you work more efficiently everyday? Or, is it cluttered, dark and just a place you sit to get work done?

1. Clean your workspace. A cluttered room blocks creativity and slows your energy. Spend a day cleaning and throwing away no longer needed items. Be simple. You'll feel happier.

2. Move your desk in front of the window. Why not give yourself the opportunity to see blue sky, leaves blowing in the wind, fluffy clouds while you type away at your laptop? Open the window for fresh air.

3. Place some plants on your windowsill or on a table near the window. Plants clear the air and give us the gift of fresh oxygen. Good for your brain! Find plants like a Lucky Bamboo or Money Tree at your local supermarket or home store.

4. Paint your work area walls. This will require a little more work but the payoff is well worth it. Choose a color that is soothing and peaceful like a dusty blue. It will give you the feel of blue sky and act as a calming background to all your paperwork and electronics.

5. Paint old furniture and file cabinets black or gray. This will create a neutral background for your work. The less distractions as you work, the easier you can complete tasks. I found two file cabinets in a "scratch and dent" sale and painted them semi-gloss enamel black along with two black bookshelves. They look clean and fresh against the soft blue walls.

6. Surround yourself with inspirational words. Either Google or use the new search engine, Bing, to find motivational quotes. Choose a few, type them up with fonts that please you and print them. Cut them out and place on your bulletin board or in front of your workspace.

7. Create a Vision Board. You know what this is. Take one of your bulletin boards or a 24 x 36 cardboard or foam board and fill it with images that motivate you. Find pictures of money, beautiful abundant nature, things that you would like to have such as a car, or new home. Just search on Bing.com for "money images" and you'll be surprised how many pictures come up. Just click and print. Put a couple of your inspirational quotes on the board and a picture of you, too. You're all set. Just glancing at it once in a while will lift your energy.

8. Background sounds. Some people find music a distraction, while others need it to block out noise or keep their brain busy while doing certain tasks. Find the perfect music to keep you focused, either soft nature sounds, classical, or alpha waves that can help you tap into your creativity. Whatever keeps you focused.

9. Favorite objects. Choose only a few. Everyone's got some little things around that bring a smile or spark a memory. Choose three or four items that make you feel happy. A few pictures of happy moments and people you love will remind you why you are working. Remember, less is more. So, organize these items on a shelf or on your desk without taking up too much space.

In a visually well-organized home office, you can work in peace and feel energetic and happy as you work. You'll think more clearly and get a lot more work accomplished. Create a workspace that inspires the best in you.

My dog knew better.

Even though I was feeding her separately from the cats, she knew what I was feeding them.

And she didn't like what I was offering her.

Abandoned dogs have often suffered a lack in regular or sufficient food. Even so, she left her food and raced to where the cats were, whining and leaping about as only puppies can, desperately trying to tell me that THIS was her natural choice dog food.

I ended up throwing away a tin and a half of dog food. I capitulated and fed her the same as the cats, just more of it, until I could be sure of the correct amount and type.

She remained fit, energetic and healthy up to about eleven years of age, with absolutely no veterinary intervention of any sort except sterilisation at about six months. She kept her figure, was always interested in everything going on, had a lovely glossy coat.

Her natural choice dog food was raw meat and bones. She chose it. She never had any other type of dog food.

It was me who was the barrier to try initially. I had to sort out my prejudices, my beliefs, my ingrained ideas of healthy dog food that I had gained over the years, from childhood, through advertisements. That was my biggest hurdle to allowing my dog her right for her natural choice dog food.

And faster rooting is overall the primary key to successful cloning.

Use the Cloning Gel correctly - When people are disappointed with the success that they have with their cloning gel, nine times out of ten it is because they are just using the product incorrectly. If you really want to make the best use of a cloning gel, do not simply assume more is better. In fact, you have to strike a happy medium between using generous amounts of the cloning gel and making sure that the young roots will be able to breathe. Putting it on in huge clumps might actually hurt you chances of the stem surviving.

Moisture – It is important to remember that when a stem is cut off from the mother plant, it is essentially on its own, both in terms of moisture and nutrients. This means that the only moisture that the plant receives basically comes from the surrounding air. If the leaves are left to dry out, there is a very slim chance that the stem will survive.

To deal with this, you should help your cloning gel by using a regular spray bottle to moisten the leaves a couple times every day. This will just make it a lot easier for the clones to survive long enough to take root. If you want to really increase your overall moisture level around the leaves, you should combine this spraying with a humidity dome that traps in the moisture.

Cut Down Stress - One of the most imperative things you can do to improve your cloning success besides using cloning gel is to cut down on the stress that your plant suffers. B vitamin supplements can be wonderful for this. These supplements are available in organic or synthetic form, so you can use them even if you prefer to grow hydro organically.

Care for your Mother Plant - While a cloning gel will help greatly, nothing can replace just taking good care of your mother plant. Working hard to make certain that the nutrient solution is well balanced and that your plant has plenty of light can go a long way towards successful cloning.

Another smart move is to use a carbohydrate supplement on your plants. By packing your plant with a lot of carbs, you will give your stems a lot of energy that they can use to create those roots.

Some people see a wonderful variety and are intimidated by the thought of decorating with candles, but they are really one of the quickest and easiest ways to freshen up a room.

Where to use Candles

There are no hard and fast rules about where you should use candles. Although tall, slender tapers are traditional accents in a dining room or on a mantle, you can put just about any style of candle anywhere in your home for instant interest and a touch of color.

Putting candles on your mantle is a wonderful way to dress up an otherwise boring fireplace. If it's a tall fireplace, try using tapers in several different heights of candleholders to break up the strong horizontal of the mantle and play up the dramatic height of the area. In the summer time, you could create an unexpected touch of drama by placing a cluster of shorter pillar candles in an elaborate, multi-branched iron candleholder. Light them in the evenings for the dramatic flicker of flames without heat.

Candles are still lovely on the table any time you dine, but try something other than tapers if you like. A long row of votive candles down the center of the table is a more contemporary look, and one or two pillars wreathed with leaves, flowers or even pine cones will give your table a wonderful, seasonal appeal.

The bedroom is the perfect place to use scented candles to add ambience. Consider romantic scents like vanilla or patchouli if you're setting the stage for a bit of romance, or consider lavender or a seaside scent to encourage relaxation. The low light provided by candles will add a touch of intimacy to your bedroom décor, which is bound to enhance your evening.

While most people don't think of the bathroom as a place for candles, a few strategically placed pillars or votive candles can turn a regular bathroom into a spa-like retreat. Try placing several around the bathtub and on the vanity and light them all for a subdued, relaxing atmosphere that will help soothe away your cares while you soak in a bubble bath.

Dressing Up Your Candles

A single candle can look impressive if placed in a dramatic candleholder that's chunky and massive. Look for hand-carved wood or oversized wrought iron for an Old World touch that works in almost any room. For a more whimsical look, try grouping together several different heights and widths of candles. The key to this working is to keep all of the candles the same color for cohesiveness and to prevent visual clutter. This kind of grouping looks wonderful as a focal point on a side table or at the end of a buffet table.

Once you've put your candles in place, you can dress them up by placing leaves or silk flowers around the base of each candle or creating an artful arrangement with sea shells, pebbles or almost any element found in nature. If you want something older fashioned, consider dressing up the candleholders in ribbons or thick tassels in a coordinating color. Just be sure you place anything like ribbon far enough from the flames for safety.

If you have large jar candles, you can show them off in their clear glass containers or set them down into the center of a nice arrangement of fresh flowers, fruits or nuts to set a lovely holiday table. Placing your candles on a small mirror is a great way to double the beauty and light of the flickering flames and gives a wonderful "fire and ice" effect.

Finally, be sure you decorate with top quality, scented candles to minimize smoking and give your guests the opportunity to enjoy wonderful, inviting aromas whenever they visit.

DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH

It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:

Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.

METHOD OF TREATMENT

1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water

2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute

3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.

4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours

5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.

6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.

The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:

1. High Blood Pressure (30 days)

2. Gastric (10 days)

3. Diabetes (30 days)

4. Constipation (10 days)

5. Cancer (180 days)

6. TB (90 days)

7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards – daily.

This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.

It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.

Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
