Daisy Perennial

planning a perennial garden for next year?
i live in michigan (zone 5b) and fall is soon aproaching. this year i purchased a few perrenials. shasta daisys, blackeye susans, gayfeather, and someone gave me a few plants, anyways i have never really been into flowers before, but i fell in love with them this year and next year i want more! problem is, they are expensive! i was thinking about trying to start some perenials from seeds. if i do that though i was reading that some seeds you can put down before fall and they will grow next year, anybody have advice about this? should i wait until next spring to plant or should i plan on putting some seeds down now?
it should be written on a seed package- some seeds will not start growing if they haven't been exposed to cold, so u must plant them in autumn. but some seeds, especially from southern countries flowers, might actually not survive winter so u must plant them in spring. some can not be even grown from seeds cos they re too difficult. and by the way did u know that very many perennials will not give flowers up to several years if they re grown from seeds. especially peonies - those will probably never flower if u grow them from seeds.
