Monkey trees as they are most commonly called are really named Monkey Puzzles or their latin genus Araucaria araucana. These trees are not native to areas like washington state, they were planted in the norther hemisphere as an ornamental tree. I'm from seattle and also grew up with a monkey puzzle in my back yard, they are very cool.

Raipur is a fast budding capital of Chhattisgarh state. Besides the emergent commercial and industrial centers there are many wildlife sanctuaries in Raipur. This is because of the city's contribution and conservation of the predominant species.

Raipur is situated along the fertile plains of Chhattisgarh district. This district was a division of the Southern Kosal. It was under the rule of Mourya Kingdom and was the capital of the Haihaya Kings. The city has become the hub of trade, commerce and the home of wildlife sanctuaries in India.

Raipur district has three wildlife sanctuaries that can be visited during the months of November to June. These sanctuaries present rich terrain, wooded hills, natural and evergreen forests. Sightseeing of species like the chinkara, the spotted dear or chital and sambar is most cherished. Other uncommon animals are the nilgai, barking deer, bison, chausingha, sloth bear, four-horned antelope, wild dog, hyena, wolf and jackal.

These sanctuaries have an avifauna section which consists of pigeons, jungle fowls, peacocks, wood peckers, green pigeons, quails, parrots, storks and gray-partridges. Most tourists gaze at the migratory birds during the summer and winter seasons. There are artificial water holes designed to fascinate them. These sanctuaries present great facets of different animals and their habitats.

Barnawapara Sanctuary
Barnawapara is situated at the northern part of Mahasamund of Chhattisgarh. The sanctuary is just 85 km away from the Raipur Airport. It was set up in the year 1976 and became one of the best in the region. The 245 square km sanctuary is a sheltered area under the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972.

The exclusive and lush vegetation of the area makes available tropical dry flora with important trees like Sal, Bamboo, Teak, Mahua, Tendu and Terminalia. There are an assortment of small animals including the flying squirrels, porcupine, black ducks, monkey, leopards Gaur, python, cobra, tiger, egrets and many more. Bird lovers also get awestruck with birds such as the bulbul, parrot, egret, peafowl, woodpecker heron, vulture herons and racket-tailed drongos.

Sitanadi Wildlife Sanctuary

Sitanadi Wildlife Sanctuary is in the southern most part, with a very big area of 556 square km. It is located along the district of Dhamtari and Chattisgarh. The hilly terrain owes its name to the
The sanctuary has a valuable flora of moist teak, Semal, Mahua, Ber Tendu, peninsular Sal and bamboo forests. There are many attractive species to see here, like the four-horned antelopes, Gaur, Sambar, Chinkara and birds like the Teetar, Crimson Breasted Barbet and Tree Pie.

Udanti Sanctuary
Undanti Wildlife Sanctuary is well-known for its wild buffalos. The hill ranges and stripes of plains make this 232 square km sanctuary the most wanted amongst tourists. The officials of the forest department have taken steps for its survival. Large man-made tanks have been built around the sanctuary.

Take a tender (new) shoot from the tree. Scrape app. 1-2" of the outer bark from the bottom of the shoot. Dip this into "Rootone". a rooting hormone you can get at a nursery or Home Depot. Get a 4-5" pot and fill with potting soil. Make a hole in the middle of the soil with a pencil or your finger. Place the part dipped in Rootone into the hole and press the soil firmly around it. Wood Chips or Shavings

The freestyle swimming stroke was thought to have originated in Australia which is partially true. The stroke used to be called the "Australian Crawl" because competitive swimmers from Australia were winning events with this stroke. It is said the freestyle was originally from the pacific islands possibly the Solomon's.

There is a story which is probably true about a boy from the Solomon Islands who went to work in Australia in the 1800's. He used to swim in one of the local pools using this stroke and someone pointed out that it looked like he was crawling. A swim coach took the basics of this stroke and refined it to what is the freestyle of today. The Australians were winning races with this stroke and the world took notice.

Stroke Symptoms

A stroke is characterized by significant disruption of the blood flow to the brain which may lead to a decrease in the incoming blood supply. When this happens the brain tissue will be deprived of oxygen and the necessary nutrients. After short while, brain cells will be progressively killed. It is therefore a medical emergency that requires immediate assessment and treatment to improve the chances of recovery. When early treatment is implemented the impairment to the brain is drastically decreased and any other complications that may occur can be avoided.

Fortunately, strokes can be adequately treated. In recent times, far less people will die from experiencing a stroke. This may be related to a better understanding of why strokes may materialize in the first place. Factors like high blood pressure, smoking and high cholesterol when controlled will dramatically decrease the chances of developing a stroke. Consequently with this knowledge most individuals are able to lower their individual risk which in turn lessens the total number of strokes that may occur.

Aside from that there are some things you can do to help prevent stroke. If you have had heart problems your doctor may prescribe blood thinners such as coumadin or aspirin to help prevent blood clotting. Low dose aspirin is prescribed for many who have had a heart attack. This is a dose of 325mg per day of aspirin or less. This is often sufficient to help greatly in preventing blood clots and stroke. Appropriate aerobic exercise for your state of health is very important. Your doctor can suggest a suitable program.

A recently published medical report which reviewed nine studies including nearly 200,000 people determined that drinking three cups of black or green tea per day reduced stroke risk by 21 percent. drinking six cups per day reduced stroke risk by yet another 21 percent.

Stroke, which commonly refers to hemiplegia, can cause weakness or paralysis on one side of the body. Impaired sensation and muscular co-ordination, speech and language problems, impaired control over bladder and bowel, emotional labiality and cognitive defects are the common after effects of stroke. Stroke rehabilitation is very important in order to enable the affected person to achieve self-sufficiency to the maximum extent possible.

People who have had a stroke are at an increased risk of having another stroke, especially within one year. It is important to continue medications to control blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes. Smoking and alcohol should be stopped completely. The Ayurvedic treatment for the rehabilitation of stroke patients is aimed at speeding up the recovery process and reducing long term disability. Treatment during the acute paralytic stage is best done in a hospital. Once the patient has been discharged from hospital, Ayurvedic treatment should be initiated at the earliest, in order to derive maximum benefit.

As far as points go I just earned two by answering your question.

In a previous article I addressed the factors contributing to the aging of our skin. In this article I want to address the more popular topic of stopping and/or reversing the aging of our skin. Of course there is no such thing as the long sought-never found Fountain-of-Youth, but that doesn't stop the claims of the modern day snake doctors.

There is no lack of products available to treat our skin. Some are "clinically proven" while others that have been around for ages have been proven through repeated use over long periods of time. Among the "clinically proven" we have alpha-hydroxy and beta-hydroxy acids; probably the best known of the bunch and both used as "peels". Almost all of these products are acids,but I'm not sure that is relevant. Several of these substances act as bleaches to "whiten the skin. Some act as fillers. Some such as Retinol and the vitamins C, E, and K enhance the bodies ability to produce new skin and produce collagen and elastin. All of these work and most are safe except you do need to check the allergy info on any product you use, "clinically proven" or not.

"Clinically proven" excludes some really good stuff. Most everyone has heard of the enzyme CoQ10. The absence of this enzyme is a marker for aging so it makes sense to me to supplement it as we grow older. Collagen is used extensively by those seeking their elusive youth. Estrogen makes the news weekly. DHEA is one I have heard of ,but have found no research that impresses me. There is a lot of hype about green tea, but if it was good for your skin, seems to me all orientals would have great skin since they drink so much of it. Aloe Vera is a plant whose pulp has incredible healing power, especially in the case of burns. Tamanu oil is the South Pacific's answer to Aloe Vera and the Melanesians invented pretty skin. Mexico has a tree that produces a similar product, but I would never attempt to spell it. Coconut oil is a great moisturizer and smells as good as anything out there. Try a little Melanesian skin care and and dream of sandy beaches in exotic places.

I often wonder what the ancient Egyptians did to their dead. Imagine having great skin thousands of years after you're dead and buried. All natural substances for sure. Their living had to look fabulous.
