The Blue Tang would have to be one of the most common and most popular tangs all over the world. Its blue and yellow tail colors make it an amazing addition to any marine or reef tanks. In nature the blue tang feeds on zooplankton, benthic and planktivorous invertebrates and attached algae.  

Due to its being herbivore fish it should be fed with commercial food such as pellet and flake food, its diet should include some greens every day. It is also known as Blue Surgeonfish, regal tang or by its scientific name Paracanthurus hepatus. The blue tang discovered in 1776 by Linnaeus.

All blue tangs in the market are wild caught mostly from the Indo pacific region. Although they are peaceful they can be aggressive to other blue tangs

Blue Tang must have good water quality and the proper diet to remain healthy; the pH level should be maintained between 8.1 and 8.4. Specific gravities should remain between 1.020 and 1.026 in a fish-only aquarium or in a reef tank. Decorate the tank with hiding places is essential. Water changes on a monthly basis and well filtered water along with suitable protein Skimmer is essential. Like all Tangs, this beautiful marine fish needs highly oxygenated water, they will also appreciate high water flow throughout the aquarium and they need a large tank to allow for large swimming lanes.

Blue Tangs may associate breeding cycles with lunar cycles in the wild, Males and females have similar coloration, but females are larger than the males. In the wild a pair releases sperm and eggs near the surface of the water. There are no reports of them spawning in the aquarium.

In Florida, it could also be any of a number of escaped (feral) domestic species, such as finches. You did not say how small the bird is. An escaped pet would be the most likely bird to eat out of your hand.

It would also help you decide which parrot cage is more suitable and which bird toys are more likely to keep your bird busy and entertained.

The main species of parrots are:

Large-sized Parrots:

Amazon parrots - medium to large in size. They are mainly green colored with patches of yellow, red, and blue on their tail, wings, and head. They often chatter when there are strangers around and possess very loud voices. The older male Amazons like the hawk-headed parrots can be aggressive.

Cockatoos - compared to Amazons - most of these are big. They are extremely intelligent, sensitive, and nervous birds. They possess erect crests that is lowered and raised at will. They may look cuddly and cute, but adult cockatoos can inflict painful bites if they are not properly trained. Cockatoos demand and require constant attention and are difficult to take care of.

African Gray Parrots are medium to large in size. They are overly sensitive but very intelligent birds. When strangers are around, they are very quiet, however, they can be extremely loud but do not create noise nuisance. Hand-reared parrots are very prone to feather plucking.

Macaws are the largest sized parrot species. The smaller macaws, like Hahn's and the yellow-collared, make good pets, but are noisy. They are active, inquisitive and often very mischievous parrots. They can learn to talk and can be very chatty. Their powerful beaks can damage many items around the house, including furniture and can even crush nuts. They are not very suitable for homes with young children. Large Macaws may also require more space instead of just a bird cage.

If you have large birds, such as the above-mentioned as pets, one should go for a large parrot cage. This should have a bar spacing of one or more inches as inappropriate spacing can result in injury to the bird.

Medium sized Parrots:

Conures are found in South Africa and are very confident and active birds. Sun yellow and bright orange conures, and blue-crowned and Patagonian conures have very loud and piercing voices. They are extremely curious, but very entertaining too. They can talk but possess squeaky thin voices when they try to emulate human speech. Conures are happy to sleep in roosting boxes placed inside the bird cage.

If you have these medium-sized birds, as pets, you should go for parrot cages which have a bar spacing of a half-inch to 5/8 inch.

Small-sized Parrots:

Parakeets are mostly found in Australia and Asia and are leaf-green colored, and are ground-feeders, and spend most of the time on the bird cage floor. Unlike other parrot species, they are quiet birds, although they are very active and social creatures. They live in a large flock and are usually kept as a flock in an aviary. Parakeets are independent birds and do not mix or bond well with humans. They respond to training but are poor mimics and imitators of human voices and speech.

Lovebirds are active and small parrots with short tails and come from Africa. They are usually kept as pets in pairs, as they rarely bond with human beings as many other parrot species do. They emit shrill sounds and can voice calls at a high volume, but they are unable to copy or imitate human speech. Lovebirds are mostly kept in an aviary, or as a pair in a bird cage, instead of in the company of other birds.

Cockatiels and budgies are the commonest parrot-like birds, and they are from Australia. Budgies are bright green in color with a fine scale-like pattern of white and black markings, but now they come in a variety of myriad colors due to selective breeding over generations. Budgies are easy to keep as pets, but require lots of attention and time with its owner/keeper if they are kept alone. They can talk and learn many phrases and words and make sounds in small, squeaky voices. Budgies are very busy and active birds. Cockatiels are large birds and they are good pets. They are naturally gray with some white on their wings, and orange-yellow patches on their head. They can learn to talk but are loud with harsh voices. They are highly busy and active birds and can be easily taught to obey some commands and requests.

If you have a small parrot such as one of the above-mentioned, you probably require one of the medium sized parrot cages having a half-inch or less bar spacing. One should always get as big a parrot cage as possible as long as he takes care of choosing one with an appropiate bar spacing and orientation.

As with most other birds, parrots enjoy bird toys as they are not just fun but neccessary for all species of parrots, large or small. These toys help keep their minds challenged, their beaks busy and keep them entertained. So make sure to purchase an array of different bird toys for your parrot to enjoy.

Naomi, What you are talking about is more than likely, the Box Elder Beetle or bug.. The variety we have out west however are a dark with red stripping on the wing plates. Don't know where you're at, but it may be a different blue color due to the locale of the insect. But I'm sure that it is the box elder beetle. We have them in the northwest and they inhabit the fir trees, only to fly down and crawl all over the sunniest side of the house. And they do find ways to get into the house through cracks and such. Split-rail fences, old farmsteads and historic structures complement spectacular views of distant mountains and neighboring valleys.

Naturally, there is no better way to view this fall scenery then on a motorcycle. Since I live at the base of the Grandfather Mountain take my advice. Before departing on a motorcycle make sure you listen to the weather forcast. Mountain tops are much cooler than the valley's below. Also, make sure to take along your motorcycle apparel even on a hot day. You never know when you are going to have a breakdown and at sundown it gets cold.

The Blue Ridge Parkway connects the Shenandoah National Park near Waynesboro, Va (Milepost 0) with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park near Cherokee, NC (Milepost 469). If you would like to ride sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway you can find entrances and exits at all major federal and state highways. At each parkway entrance a directional sign indicates north or south. North toward the north end of the Parkway, leads to Shenandoh National Park. South, toward the south end of the Parkway, leads to the Great Smoky Mountains.

Asheville and Boone, NC along with Roanoke, Va are the largest cities along the route. In Virginia, Interstates 64, 81 and 77 all have directions for accessing the Parkway. The same is true for Interstates 40 and 26 in North Carolina. Their are facilities, including picnic areas, campgrounds, visitor centers, and concessions. Facilities are in full operation.

Covered in abstract monoliths of all shapes and sizes. For a moment, I felt as though I had been transported onto the film set of a "Star Wars" movie. All I needed now was my son's light saber and you could call me Luke Skywalker.

The rock-strewn landscape glittered like gold in the midday sun, the harsh rays bouncing off the twisted structures. Eager to get a birds eye view of Egypt's mystical White Desert we left the 4X4 behind us and headed off to climb one of the larger rocks. With no wind to speak of, and ravaging temperatures somewhere in the mid 40's it was an intense endevour, but worth it for the mesmerising views.

The chalk sculptures, which rise up majestically from the sand have been formed by the fierce desert winds - an art gallery that comes courtesy of the natural world. If you look closely, the gnarled shapes have a certain "lifelike" quality about them – as though faces have been carefully etched into the rocks by a human hand.

As the sun started to set on the rich desert landscape we were invited to camp out in a traditional Bedouin tent, which is customarily divided into two sections by a woven curtain known as a ma'nad. Inviting as it was, I decided to roll up one of my three comfortable mattresses and spend the night pitched out on a rocky outcrop under the stars. I was eager to savour the experience in its entirety, from dusk to dawn. The sun melted away into the ether casting hues of violet and pink across the massive rocks, the moonlight throwing strange shadows over the rugged terrain and lulling me into a peaceful slumber.

Arid and deserted, the white desert contrasts sharply with the bustling streets of Cairo and its nearby treasures. Only a few days before I had been treated to the delights of ancient Egypt with a tour of the Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Step Pyramid at Saqqara. The tourist zones, as you would expect, are populated by truckloads of eager globetrotters, all coming to marvel at the country's famous monuments. Yet, despite giving into the desire to cross off all the must do pit stops, I was in search of the less well-travelled corners of the country. We were invited into Badr's museum and home, which is surrounded by a colourful desert garden, cluttered from beginning to end with his ingenious works of art. Each of the pieces, ranging from donkeys to wizened old women and tall elegant traders on camels, lead you on a tour through his imagination.

Our new-found friend played host for an hour or two while we sat wide-eyed and watched him chipping away at the sandstone. Within a few minutes you could see his vision unraveling before us. The rock crumbled, and the features of a small boy slowly came into being. A truly thought provoking experience I parted with just eight pounds sterling adding yet another customised relic to my collection of travel artifacts. It will be a constant reminder of my time in undiscovered Egypt – a remote haven which I am eager to find out more about on my return.

Since the establishment of the Movado brand in 1881 by Achilles Ditesheim, the Swiss company has been producing very interesting and appealing watches. Laser printers are best if high-quality text documents are more important than high-resolution photos and that speed is essential. Laser printers major selling point is their ability to quickly print crisp documents at a very low cost per page. Color laser printers major selling point is their ability to print documents with a mix of text, graphics and photos at a fast speed, but they do run a bit more expensive because they can "do it all." Overall, laser printers and color laser printers cost much less to maintain and operate and have a lower cost over the printer's lifetime, but have a higher price-tag initially.

It's worth explaining in detail the huge difference in the cost of ownership of the two types of printers. An inkjet printer costs a lot less initially but its cost per page is much higher than a laser printer's cost per page. In fact, companies practically give away inkjet printers because the profit for most manufacturers is in the ink cartridges, or consumables as they call them. On the other hand, a laser printer costs a lot more initially, but over time its toner will cost much less per page. For example, let's say you print 5000 pages in two months. You would have to replace the inkjet's ink cartridges about 25 times compared with the two times you would have to replace the laser printer's toner cartridge. The cost of the inkjet ink cartridges would almost double the cost of the laser toner cartridges. If you print a couple hundred pages per month or a thousand pages per month, laser printers are more cost effective overall.

Conclusively, if your business' output volume is moderate to heavy, your best bet is to go with a laser printer due to the laser printer's total cost of ownership. If you print very infrequently, whether it's for personal use or for your small office, then an inkjet printer would be more cost effective.

At the end of the day, the types of documents you need to print may determine what printer, or printers, you select. If you're printing mainly photos and documents for personal use, such as directions in which you don't care about the quality, then you should get an inkjet printer. If you print a lot of text documents and are cost conscience, then a budget monochrome laser printer would be your best fit. Finally, if you print a moderate volume of text, graphics, and mixed documents, then a color laser printer would definitely best suit your needs and would be a good investment.

HP printers are great in both the inkjet printers and laser printers categories. Epson printers, Canon printers, and Kodak printers are very popular for inkjet and photo printers. Brother printers, Xerox printers, HP printers and Samsung printers are best in class for laser printers with Xerox probably the best in class for color laser printers for businesses. So figure out your printing needs and do your research and you will find the right printer for your needs at the right price.
